A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion drives the mission of Bidwell Riverside Center and Hawthorn Hill.  We provide four primary services:  Our Food and Clothing Pantry aims to compassionately provide food, clothing and basic essentials to all in need.  Our Child Development Center strives to provide affordable high-quality early childhood education targeting families on limited incomes. Our New Directions Shelter provides emergency shelter and supportive services for families experiencing homelessness.  The Home Connection provides vulnerable families with affordable homes while they work to achieve economic self-sufficiency. 

 

In all four of these programs, we believe our commitment to inclusion across race, religion, skin color, gender, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental abilities, genetic information, pregnancy, disability, age, family or marital status, veteran status, and socio-economic status is vital to provide quality support to those experiencing poverty, and this commitment to inclusion is at the heart of our mission.

People are at the core of who we are and what we do.  We build connections with those we serve based on an understanding that factors such as race and socioeconomic status may have limited their opportunities and circumstances.  We recognize the unequal impact of these factors in our community and seek to equip all those involved with Bidwell Riverside Center and Hawthorn Hill to overcome and transcend these challenges.
