Thank you for supporting the families of Hawthorn Hill this holiday season! 

 

Volunteer: Volunteers are needed to help families "shop" for the gifts provided through Hawthorn Hill's Wish List. (Everything is free to the families staying with us.) Then, help the families wrap their presents. Volunteers are needed December 8th - December 22nd. Times are flexible - suggested times include: 

Mornings 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Afternoons 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Evenings 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

 

This is a great project for an individual or up to 4 volunteers at a time.

Donate: We also need presents for the families staying at the shelter! Please see the list below for suggested items. 
Donation delivery – All items can be dropped off at the Hawthorn Hill office located at 3001 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312. Staff will be available Monday-Friday from 8am to 8pm to accept your donation. Prior to arriving, please give our office a call to let staff know you are on your way. Our office phone number is 515-243-7456. When you arrive, park in the delivery parking spot located at the back of the building. Please have any gift cards in a envelope and hand directly to our staff. All items should be dropped off by Friday, December 9th.

We ask that all gifts remain unwrapped so families can experience the joy in picking items out and wrapping them for their loved ones.
